Wireless Access

eduroam

eduroam, a free wireless service, is available at the University of Georgia. eduroam allows all UGA students, faculty and staff to get wireless service when visiting participating eduroam institutions in the U.S. and abroad.

Many higher education institutions in the United States are eduroam participants. eduroam is also available at educational institutions and research facilities in more than 85 countries.

eduroam is a wireless network option available throughout most of the UGA campus with the exception of residence halls. All UGA students, faculty and staff have access to eduroam while on campus with their wireless devices.

eduroam allows students, faculty, and staff of participating eduroam schools to get Internet access across institutions using their school’s credentials.

For example, a UGA faculty member visiting at Clemson University, which is also an eduroam participant, could use their UGA credentials (MyID@uga.edu) to log in to Clemson’s wireless network on campus. Likewise, a Clemson faculty member could do the same with their credentials when they visit the UGA campus.

eduroam provides a list of current U.S. participants and international participants.

The EITS Help Desk provides technical documentation on how to use eduroam at UGA and at participating eduroam institutions. For technical assistance, please call the EITS Help Desk at 706-542-3106.

Guest Wireless

UGA visitors without a valid MyID may access our guest wireless network, UGA_Visitors_Wifi while on our Athens campus.

UGA_Visitors_Wifi is self-service. You can find instructions for accessing this network on the EITS Help Desk site.
